The County Treasurer, elected by the general public, serves as an agent of the state and is responsible for the receipt, custody, and disbursement of public funds.
The Treasurer’s Office also administers the issuance of various licenses and permits, including:
Dog licenses
Hunting and fishing licenses
Bingo and small games of chance licenses
Sportsman’s firearm permits
Property Tax season begins on April 1st every year. Starting with a 2% discount period between April 1st and May 31st. From June 1st until July 31st property taxes can be paid at face value. The Penalty period runs from August 1st through Dec 31st.
Taxes may be paid in person or by mail. Accepted payment methods include cash and check. If submitting payment by mail, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope to receive your tax payment receipt. Credit card payments can be accepted online or in person.
